Dr Sanghamitra Kanungo completed her postgraduation in Ophthalmology at VSS Medical College, Burla. She did Fellowship in IOL and Anterior Segment Microsurgery from JPM Rotary Eye Hospital and Research Institute, Cuttack. She subsequently completed another Fellowship in Retina-Vitreous Services at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. She served in JPM Rotary Eye Hospital and Research Institute as a Consultant, Retina-Vitreous Services. Now she is working at Kar Vision Eye Hospital as Consultant, Vitreo Retina Services since 2010. She did short term Uvea fellowship at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. She has done short term fellowship on AMD in Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Florida, USA. She is serving as Consultant Vitreo Retina, Microsurgery and Uvea for the past 13 years.
She has contributed about 40 free papers and posters in various national and international conferences. She has 12 publications in indexed, peer-reviewed journals, including Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye, RETINA, Retinal Cases and Brief Reports, Ophthalmic surgery lasers & imaging etc. She was co-guide in 2 DNB thesis.
